Meet Our Team


Dr. Karen Sherman Owner of Oak View Animal Clinic;  Dr. Sherman was raised in Pineville, MO and received her Animal Science Degree at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine. She has lived in Pea Ridge since 1984 and has a Great Dane named Shadee, an Irish Wolfhound named Lenny, a two cats named P.M. and Bizzee, as well as beef cattle. Along with managing the business, Dr. Sherman is active in many local organizations, veterinary organizations, and has served as the President of the Arkansas Veterinary Medication Association Board.  Her hobbies include swimming, walking her dogs, quilting, and helping people with personal needs.  

Dr. Robert Holmes Large and Small Animal Veterinarian;  Dr. Holmes has been with the Oak View team since 2018.  He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture and went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Holmes is a native of Arkansas and he and his wife Kelsey enjoy evening strolls with their baby girl Hadley, and two dogs, Cooper and Charlie.  

Dr. Rebecca Bynum Locum Large and Small Animal Veterinarian;  Dr. Bynum was born, raised, and still resides in Siloam Springs.  She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from the University of Arkansas in 1995 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 2004.  Her passion is equestrian sports and she has shown hunters and jumpers for over thirty years.  Dr. Bynum has two rescue dogs, Tango and Stinky Steve, along with four cats, four donkeys, five horses, and a mess of chickens.  

Technical Team

Christie C: Animal Care Assistant;  Christie has been with Oak View for over two years.  She was born in Mountain Home and raised in Norfork.  Her passion is taking special care of each boarder that enters our facility.  Outside of work, Christie enjoys spending time with her husband Larry, son Zack, her dog Lucas and cat Patch.  Her secret hobby is collecting yard statues from Alpena.  

Courtney S: Registered Veterinary Nurse;  Courtney was born and raised in Garfield, Arkansas and currently resides in Anderson, Missouri with her husband Zach.  She earned her Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Crowder College in 2018 and has been part of the Oak View team since 2015.  Her passion is patient care and client education.  She feels her duty is to help clients learn the importance of vaccines and preventatives since her knowledge of such before working in the field was poor.   

Lori D: Veterinary Nurse Assistant;   Lori was raised in Cassville, Missouri on our family farm. She obtained my bachelor's in General Agriculture from Missouri State University in December 2020. She currently resides in Seligman, MO with her fianc√© Jerry and their two cats Pipper and Meow Meow. She has  always had a passion for working with animals and in the agriculture industry. She can't wait to take care of your animals!! 

Laney Y: Veterinary Nurse Assistant; Laney was born and raised in Rogers. She enjoys anything outdoors, such as, kayak fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with Harlan and my "son" whom is a dog, benji.

Office Team 

Brandy W: Client Care Coordinator, Brandy was born and raised in Arkansas, settling down in NWA in the 90s. She spends most of her free time camping, hiking, and running around in the woods with her jeep. She is owned by two German Shepherd Dogs, and two teenagers.

Vicky J: Client Care Coordinator, Vicky lives in Noel, MO with the love of her life, Kevin, and their 5 year-old granddaughter, Bella. They also share their home with 2 dogs and 2 very fat cats. Vicky has been in the veterinary field since 2009 and loves animals. When not spoiling all of the doggo's that come into Oak View, she loves  spending her time camping and being with her family.
